The Northwest Jacksonville Corridor Improvements will enhance the transit user experience in Northwest Jacksonville by improving amenities at 111 bus stops. Improvements are focused on safety and accessibility, providing connections to destinations in the community, and embracing the communities’ identities.

The project will consider how riders are moving outside of the bus stop and connecting with the surrounding area. Bus stop upgrades will include traditional amenities such as shelters, benches, trash receptacles, and bike racks as well as amenities such as dynamic messaging for route information, safety improvements like lighting, community maps, and artistic renderings highlighting community identity.

Local artists Erin Kendrick, Christopher Clark, and Keith Doles now have their work featured at seven bus shelters, including three at the Soutel Hub and four along the NW Corridor. Selected by a community vote in August 2024, the art was unveiled at a November ribbon-cutting with JTA officials and Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman. In early 2025, another group of artists had their art selected to be featured at bus shelters in the NW Corridor. The artwork and shelters will be completed in mid-2025. Construction is underway and will continue in 2025 with upgrades at 50 bus stops.
