Status

Complete Streets is a transportation infrastructure approach that designs streets for all users, not just cars. The MobilityWorks 2.0 program continues JTA’s implementation of Complete Streets across the region.

The Merrill Road Complete Streets project consists of but not limited to pedestrian safety and aesthetic improvements, including new crosswalks, connecting sidewalk gaps and bike lanes. The project will also include safety improvements at the Townsend Blvd/Merrill Road intersection to include a concrete median to eliminate cross lane movements, elimination of access driveways that are too close to the intersection and replace the existing intersection signalization with an upgraded traffic signal system that meets the current standards.

The University Boulevard/Merrill Road Corridor project was included in FY 24 procurement.
