Regional Capital Infrastructure Summit

JTA hosted its first-ever Regional Capital Infrastructure Summit in October 2023 which connected over 300 small businesses, prime contractors, and vendors with JTA leaders, city officials, and stakeholders from across Greater Jacksonville.

Participants had the chance to network with JTA leaders and learn more about upcoming contracting opportunities through MobilityWorks 2.0 and the Capital Improvement Plan. Around 60 percent of organizations that attended were either Local Small Business Enterprises (LSBEs) or Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) based in Jacksonville.

Businesses were invited to pitch their services directly to JTA at a ‘Shark Tank’ style competition during the Summit. Several firms were awarded contracts through this unique opportunity and others were shortlisted for future services.

Post-event feedback was positive, with 98 percent of respondents saying they would be likely or very likely to recommend JTA events to a friend or colleague.

One participant remarked that the Summit demonstrated JTA’s commitment to inclusion:

“This was a much overdue and needed event for DBE businesses to get in front of prime contractors doing business in the area. For JTA to reach out and be proactive in getting the businesses they helped to certify for LSBE and DBE by putting them in front of contractors was a huge display of their commitment to diversity inclusion.”

JTA is excited to see such robust engagement from local businesses and stakeholders and looks forward to building on the success of this inaugural Summit.
